" Are you interested in playing some classic board games or learning a new game? Join us! We will be meeting twice a month on Friday afternoons, 1-4pm, at the Enchanted Grounds, 3615 W Bowles Ave, Littleton, CO 80123 near OLLI South. People are encouraged to bring a game they would like to share with the group and Enchanted Grounds also has some games that we can borrow if we want to try something new. "OLLI at DU Casual Any Instrument Ensemble" is a Shared Interest Group, SIG, free with your OLLI at DU Annual Membership.

Did you used to play an instrument? Do you still have it but haven't gotten it out of the closet because there's no one to play with? If you can read simple music, I'd like to get folks together to play our instruments. Doesn't matter what kind - we can find music that we all can play together.

Not for performing for anyone else, just for the pure joy of coming together to make music!

"OLLI at DU Chess Club" is a Shared Interest Group, SIG, free with your OLLI at DU Annual Membership.

Join your fellow OLLI members Tuesday afternoons at the Bean Fosters Coffee House in Golden (720 Golden Ridge Rd, Golden, CO 80401) from 12:45 to 4:45 for open play. You can play in the early session 12:45 – 2:45 or the 2nd session 2:45 – 4:45 or both.

Play interest is solicited each week and players assigned according to their interest and ability as best we can. 

The venue is free but the coffee house does depend on some folks buying coffee and/or food.

OLLI chess class teachers Bob Magnani and Mel Mandel play as well as several former OLLI class participants. We encourage players of all levels to join. You must know how to play (at any level) - this club is not for those who want to learn chess from scratch. But, if you DO want to learn, contact us and we may, if there is enough interest, again offer a beginner's Chess class at OLLI.

"OLLI at DU Epic Skiing" is a Shared Interest Group, SIG, free with your OLLI at DU Annual Membership.

Share transportation and time on the slopes with OLLI friends this coming winter! Organized by a former ski instructor at Breckenridge resort who enjoys explaining technique with anyone who’s eager to hear it, so those who want to get better at the sport will get a lot of value from each outing. For those who already ski as well as they like, they’ll have some thoughtful campanions for good conversation on the ski lifts.

This group will focus upon resorts available via the Epic Ski Pass (Keystone, Breckenridge, Vail, Beaver Creek).

Meeting Day: Usually weekdays, when the resorts are less crowded. Time: Usually leave the Woolly Mammoth Park’N’Ride at 6:45 to 7:00am

A NOTE FROM PAM: I am looking forward to seeing many of you on our walks and hikes together. Get out your hiking shoes and poles if you use them for the hikes. For the hikes, be sure to wear hiking boots or hiking shoes with plenty of traction.Walking shoes won't work for the hikes. Remember, it's summer, and you'll need plenty of water. On the hikes, those little plastic bottles are not enough! I tried to chose hikes with shade.

On the hikes, let me know the night before if you will be joining us. Please remember to send me a text message if you are running late, and we will wait for you.

"OLLI at DU Snowshoeing" is a Shared Interest Group, SIG, free with your OLLI at DU Annual Membership.

Get ready to embrace the beauty of Colorado’s winter landscapes!  This voluntary group plans to head to the mountains every two weeks starting in late January, continuing through February, and possibly into early March, depending on snow conditions. Each outing will begin with a meetup at the parking lot in front of Office Max on the corner of South Broadway and Alameda. Going north or south on South Broadway, turn West on Alameda Ave. Go one block to Bannock Street. Turn Left on Bannock and then immediately left into the parking lot. You should see a group of us where we will set up carpooling. Passengers encouraged to contribute $3–$5 for gas.

Please note that snowshoeing is a bit more demanding than regular hiking, and we will be at high altitudes where the snow is plentiful. Participants should be in reasonable shape and prepared for these challenges. Despite the effort, snowshoeing is a wonderful, social, and truly beautiful experience. Check back here for announcements and details about upcoming excursions. Don’t miss this opportunity to enjoy great company and stunning winter scenery—hope to see you on the trail!
