Attending a dress rehearsal is a unique opportunity to watch the creative process of an opera company at work before the public opening, with the performers in full costumes, wigs and make-up. Watch the conductor lead the orchestra and the performers through the entire opera, sometimes stopping to give instructions or corrections.

A shattering story of survival and strength, Madama Butterfly tells the story of Cio-Cio-San (Butterfly), a young geisha who marries an American Naval officer, Lt. Pinkerton, to uplift her family from an unfortunate past. A devastating opera, both musically and dramatically, Puccini’s eternal melodies tug at your heartstrings for Butterfly and her terrible fate.
